Description: This is a true story which takes place from October, 1969 through October, 1970. On October 6, 1970, I was shot and the story takes the readers through the events that led to me getting shot.
Born crippled and growing up as a military brat, I had lived a very sheltered, controlled and strict life and by the time I turned seventeen, I lost complete control sleeping with every pretty woman I met whether they were married, engaged or had a boyfriend. I had also gotten to the point that stayed drunk about ninety percent of yr time and was constantly fighting so by the end of the book the number of people who had it in for me was almost boundless.

Excerpt:
Having a revolver, its hammer cocked and pointed directly at my chest was frightening enough but his facial appearance, or lack of, was absolutely terrifying.
Watching me through sorrow filled eyes, his face appeared entirely void as if it had been carved from stone the only visible emotion seemed that of determination.
Dan Buckles and I had gone rabbit hunting the previous evening and the rifle, I had used still lay on the table where I had left it, its barrel pointing toward me. With the exception of the radio which ironically was playing, Reflections of my Life by Marmalade the trailer was deafly quiet.
Beside the rifle lay my pack of cigarettes. Petrified, sweat beaded on my forehead and trickled underneath my arms and I asked if he'd allow me a smoke.
Still sitting on the edge of my bed, he made no reply, or even indicated he had heard me so turning slightly as if to grab for the cigarettes, I grabbed the cold steel of the barrel instead and in one fluid motion swung the rifle up.
There was a burst of flame from the guns muzzle and the shot was deafening in the small enclosure of the trailer as the impact of the bullet pierced my abdomen forcing me backward. strangely, I did not feel any pain.
Strangely, I did not feel any pain but feeling my knees buckle, I had the astonishing and absurd feeling, I was actually rising. Shocked, I desperately tried to grasp what had just happened but my brain was rapidly growing numb. With the stench of gun powder strong in the air, white light rose from the back of my eyes as unbearable pain began too set in.
The bullet ricocheting throughout my abdomen caused an extensive amount of damage, its path ending as it became lodged in my spine, paralyzing me from the waist down. My lifeless legs crumpling underneath my body fell, hitting the floor, my head struck, bounced and slowly lolled to the side. Damn my new shirt is ruined, I thought as I slowly slipped into a world of darkness.
With blood seeping from the entry wound, I lay paralyzed and unconscious as the uninvited stranger stepped over my bleeding and almost lifeless body, stepping out the trailer door and into the early morning haze.
