This book is expected to be a self help book. I envision something around 40,000 words. Not traditional, meaning cramped with a lot of words. I like spaces and simplicity. Ok, the overview, whats it about? Well last year my partner Patty and I decided to sell everything we owned and go live what we dreamed. We made this decision because we had each lost 8 close friends and relatives in about a 2 year period. We realized that at our age, 43 and 44, life might not wait for us to retire to enjoy the good times. So we bought a sailboat and didn't have a clue how to sail, we took 6 days of sailing lesson, packed up our car and drove from Vancouver Island, BC Canada to San Diego and found our sailboat. We sailed around Souther California for 3 months and then pushed off the dock to sail over 1000 miles to our final destination La Paz, Mexico. IT WAS NOT THE SAILING JOURNEY, that is the book. The book is about all the people I met that kept asking me, how did I do it? How did I just up and leave a life I spent 15 years building? For the scores and probably a few hundred people I talked too in our journey, I want to provide the how-to-manual for people who want to get off the dock and live what they dream. I envision writing with some attitude, I'm don't mince words and speak quite plainly. each chapter would have a summery and 1-2 exercises for the reader. The objective is that when the reader has completed the book, they a complete action plan for moving to the life they really want. |

I've recently worked on the life story of a famous Broadway and Nashville singer who spent 8 years sailing around the Caribbean living an anonymous lifestyle stopping when and where they liked. | My rate for a project like this is 5 cents a word ($50 per 1,000 words). I can offer a $5 discount per 2,000 words (i.e. 4,000 = $190). Bios are pretty much what I do regularly. As a journalist, I often write profiles on people, businesses, organizations and music groups. The key difference is you would obviously get to review/make changes and it would be written to your desired length. I'm a stickler for accuracy and have an eye for detail. | ||||
